Munnatawket Bat Company (sadly defunct now)

This is a neat little set of minis made by Ryan Rodd (RIP) for his Munnatawket Baseball Bat company. They are a tribute of sorts to 2008 Allen and Ginter of which he, like myself, was a huge fan. It even has numbered parallels and “inserts” like autographs from Ryan himself, Chris Reed (the blogger from sports card blog Nachos Grande and another Ginter fan), Spider Man, and Santa Claus as well as Bazooka backs #/25, NNO backs #/5, and photo variations.

I started the journey with this set when I bought a starter lot from Mike on The Bench forums that was about 80% complete. I kind of think he got them in a trade with Chris Reed but he couldn’t remember.

Chris Reed helped me along with a Ginter for Custom Ginter trade for the extras he had. He’s a stand up guy and heck of a blogger. Check out his writing at http://fanofreds.blogspot.com/ and see if you can help fill out some of his needs lists.

I then managed to make contact with Ryan himself through his eBay store and he filled in most of the rest of the gaps in trade for some Mets stuff. Well, at least I thought he did until he told me there were several autos I didn’t know existed (and are currently only in his Master Set but we’ll see about that) as well as some upcoming additions to the base set he is working on.

Ryan unfortunately passed away much too early on 9/15/23 so this set will remain as is in tribute to him. He was a great guy, a great fireman, a great baseball fan, and a great friend. He’ll be sorely missed, not only by myself, but by everyone that knew him.
