I’m married to a wonderful woman who has put up with me and my hobbies for the last 20 years. We have an awesome son and the sweetest daughter anyone has ever been blessed with having.
I’m a St. Louis Cardinals fanatic (thanks to the moment in the picture up above), a Kansas City Chiefs die-hard, and an Oklahoma City Thunder noisemaker.
I’ve been collecting sports cards, and specifically Ozzie Smith, Jeff Frye, and Jeff Bagwell, for the better part of the last 30 years. I took a long break between 2002 and 2012 or so then dabbled for 4 years, mainly just picking up the random Ozzie or St. Louis Cardinal rookie card. I really started to collect again a few years ago when I bought some hanger packs of 2017 Allen & Ginter at Wal-Mart, at the time the closest thing I had to an LCS within an hour’s drive. Thankfully we have a couple of small shops now that are good to work with run by a couple guys who love the hobby.
All it took was a couple of jumbo hanger packs and I was hooked again. A retail box later and my wife and son were hooked too. A few hobby boxes later and I’ve decided to build most of the A&G run from 2006 onward. How involved that will be past the base set and whatever insert sets I like I’m not sure yet, but knowing me OCD will kick in and I’ll try to collect it all.
My Matt Holliday PC has kind of taken a backseat these days to my Ryan Helsley PC. Ryan is from my hometown so I’m doing my best to keep up with all his cards.
When I’m not collecting cards you’ll likely find me outside tending the smoker, shooting hoops with my son, or watching my daughter chase our Boxer and German Shepherd around the yard.
